This Privacy Notice explains how BudgetIT Pro, operated by Vivian Nwogu (“we”, “us”, “our”), collects and uses personal data when you use BudgetIT Pro (the “Service”). Vivian Nwogu acts as the data controller for the personal data described here.

1. What we collect

Account data — your email address, a securely hashed password, and optionally your display name.
Budget data — the income figures, categories, percentages, sinking fund settings, and locked budget snapshots that you enter into the Service.
Usage and technical data — basic logs (IP address, browser type, request timestamps) needed to operate and secure the Service.

We do not collect or store payment card details. Payment information is collected directly by our payment provider (see below).

2. Why we use it

To create your account and let you sign in with your email and password.
To store and display the budgets and snapshots you create.
To send you account-related emails such as verification and password reset.
To operate, secure, and improve the Service.
To comply with legal obligations (accounting, tax, fraud prevention).

We rely on the performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and improving the Service, your consent (where required), and legal obligations, as the relevant legal bases.

3. Who we share it with

Hosting and infrastructure providers that host the Service and its database.
Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record and payment provider, for processing purchases, subscription management (if any), payments, tax compliance, invoicing, and refunds.
Email delivery providers to send transactional emails such as account verification and password reset.
Professional advisers (legal, accounting) and authorities where required by law.

4. Retention

We keep your account and budget data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time (see below), after which we will delete or anonymise your personal data unless we are legally required to keep it.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, rectify, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, email support@budgetitpro.com. If you are in the UK or EEA, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

6. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on our database.

7. Cookies

BudgetIT Pro uses only essential cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and to remember your budget between sessions. We do not use advertising cookies.
